The XS DrMOS family is ON Semiconductor's next-generation, fully optimized, ultra-compact integrated MOSFET and driver power stage solution for high current, high frequency, synchronous buck, DC-DC applications.The FDMF6820C integrates a driver IC and a bootstrap Schottky diode in a thermally enhanced, ultra-compact 6x6mm package. Through integration, this complete switching power stage is optimized for driver and MOSFET dynamics, system inductance, and power MOSFET RDS(ON). Using ON Semiconductor's high-performance PowerTrench MOSFET technology, this XS DrMOS family dramatically reduces switching ringing and eliminates the need for absorption circuitry found in most buck converter applications. A drive IC with reduced dead time and propagation delay further enhances performance. The FDMF6820A incorporates a skip mode (SMOD#) to improve energy efficiency under light loads, and the FDMF6820C also offers a 3-state 3.3V PWM input, making it compatible with a wide range of PWM controllers.
