The Texas Instruments CD74HCT299M96 component is a general purpose 8-bit, bi- stable, asynchronous FIFO memory chip. It is designed to be used in a range of digital applications and provides an ideal solution for buffering of data between different parts of a system. The device features an 8-bit memory, which is organized as 16 words of 4 bits each. The device has an asynchronous reset, as well as a clock enable and disable, and a, read/write enable. It offers two sets of data and address inputs, as well as a control input for synchronizing the read/write operations. Data can be transferred from both the 8-bit memory and 4-bit memory in parallel, allowing for improved system performance. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the CD74HCT299M96 is suitable for a variety of applications where temperature extremes are a concern.
