The KA7552A/KA7553A are switching power supply control ICs for a wide range of operating frequencies. The internal circuitry includes pulse-by-pulse current limiting, protection, externally triggered on/off control, low standby current, soft start, and a high current totem pole output for driving power MOSFETs. the KA7552A has a maximum duty cycle of 70% and the KA7553A has a maximum duty cycle of 46%. The input threshold voltages on pins 2 and 8 in the KA7552A and KA7553A are different when the duty cycle is maximum.
